Bloch, Pedro M.D., Ph.D., Prof. Born in Jitomir, Kiev, Ukraina, May 17, 1914 First phoniatrician of Brazil, founded the Department of Phoniatrics at the Otolaryngology Society of Rio de Janeiro (Sociedade de Otorrinolaringologia do Rio de Janeiro – SORJ) in the end of the 50’s. He has ministered courses of phoniatrics and logopedics in the 60’s, at the School of Rehabilitation of Rio de Janeiro (Escola de Reabilitação do Rio de Janeiro), from where many physicians got their specialist degree.
