Examination qualifying for university entrance 1939. War service 1940 - 41 in North Africa.

British prisoner of war 1941 - 47 in Egypt, Canada and England. Student of dramatic art at the Reinhard-School of „Deutsches Theater“ 1947 - 49 in Berlin. Actor in Erfurt and Leipzig 1949 -1953. Study of medicine in Leipzig 1953 - 58. Doctorate 1959. Further development as ENT specialist at University of Heidelberg 1960 - 64. Establishing of a phoniatric department. Organization and conduction of so called „Voice healing cures“ in Lubmin at the Baltic Sea.

Habilitation (Ph.D.) 1967. Director of an ENT-Clinic in Neuruppin 1970 - 76. Exit to the Federal Republic of Germany 1976.

Chairman of a School for Logopedics at the Rehabilitation Center in Heidelberg. Extraordinary professor at the University of Heidelberg. In addition to that: foundation of a Clinic for Voice and Speech Disorders in Bad Rappenau 1982. Medical director of this institution till 1990. Organizing and managing „Days of Communication Medicine“ and an art exhibition „Voice and Art“ in that very place. Since 1996 Co-manager of the meeting „Stuttgarter Stimmtage“, taking place every two years. 1998 awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
