Particularly interested in the physiology of the larynx, in 1962 he published his theory of mucoundulatory phenomena of the mucus membrance of the vocal folds, subsequently confirmed by stroboscopic methods.

Methodical and conscientious, he published, among many articles, a treatise on phoniatrics that adressed a large public and covers in particular speech-language disorders, singing, diction, deafmuteness and phono-audiology.

Further, in 1977 he published the „Lexicon de comunicologia“, a technical dictionary in several languages: Castilian, Catalan, French, English, German, Italian and Latin followed by a dictionary of personalities from early antiquity to recent times.

In 1950, he founded the „Acta ORL Ibero-Americana“. Six years later he organised the 10th IALP International Congress in Barcelona.

In 1960 he created the very active Asociación Española de Logopedia y Audiologia.

A member of the IALP Board since 1956, he became President in 1974. History fascinated him and he chaired until recently the IALP History Committee. He also published in Folia Phoniatrica (19871988) a „Chronology of Phoniatrics“ from Egyptian hieroglyphics up to the last decade. Later, he edited the first editions of „IALP History“.

Our Association owes much to this methodical organised man and frequently called upon his precious collaboration.

He received many awards and distinctions from various countries and was an honorary member of the IALP.

We have lost a great friend and an erudite person whose sparkling humour was greatly appreciated by all.

To his family with whom we share their sadness, we tender our most sincere condolences.
