		Antoni Pruszewicz, specialists in ENT and phoniatrics born 1931, graduated at the University School of Medical Sciences in Poznan (PL) in 1955, PhD in 1970, extra ordinary Professor in 1980, ordinary Professor in 1986. In the period 1981-1993 deputy president and president of the University. Since 1982 Director of the Department of Phoniatrics and Audiology in the Chair of ENT. Graduated 25 specialists in phoniatrics and 20 in audiology and promoted 16 dissertations and 5 habilitations. Published more than 400 papers in Polish and foreign scientific journals (about 1/4j. Editor of 3 books: 1) Proceedings of XII UEP Congress Poznan 1985 2) Clinical Phoniatrics PZWL Warsaw 1992; 3) Outline of Clinical Audiology, Univ. of Med. Sc. in Poznan 1994, 2nd ed. 2000. Awarded with Gutzmann and Seeman Medaille and honorary membership of the GDR ENT Society, German Society for Phoniatrics and Pedaudiology (GFR), Czechoslovak ORL Society J.E.Purkyne, Hungarian Society of Phonetics, Phoniatrics and Logopedics, Polish Society of ENT/Head-Neck Surgery. Awarded also:1) with some Polish national honours as: Cross of Polonia Restituta, Golden Cross of Merit and national scientific prizes (Ministry of Health and Welfare, Scientific Societies): 2) in 1991 title „Doctor honoris causa“ of the University of Torino (Italy).
