| She ended the study of medicine at Medical Faculty of Charles University in 1939. She started with pediatrics, but in the year 1946 she went to the ENT clinic of Medical Faculty, head prof. MUDr. Antonín P?e?echtìl, to the out-patients department for phoniatrics. She was the pupil of professor Seeman, she was one of the founders of the independent phoniatric clinic at the Medical Faculty of Charles University. Her main scientific interest was the voice. The monograph Development of the Voice and Speech in New-born and Infants was awarded by Gould Award in 1968. The second interest was the pathogenesis of stuttering, her papers about the neurovegetative system in stutterers and the study about metabolism of central amins in stutterers are cited until know. She published about 150 scientific publications. She was one of the founders of Union of European Phoniatricians in 1971 in Belgrade, the II. president of the UEP. Her organizational work laid the organization of the Phoniatric clinic of the Medical Faculty. She was head of the clinic only two years. She was very active in the organization of Phoniatrics in Czechoslovak Republic, many years she was the president of Czech Phoniatric association. Annual phoniatric meetings of Czech phoniatricians are being organized in her honor. |
