Employment Senior physician and chief physician (phoniatrics) 1957-64 in Helsinki University Hospital. Head of the phoniatric department in central hospital of Central Finland (Jyväskylä) 1964-85. Senior lecturer in logopedics, clinical speech research and phoniatrics of University of Jyväskylä 1968-85 and in voice research of Sibelius Academy Helsinki 1990-95. Present position Retired 1986. Instrumental activity in the founding of many associations and societies, among other the Finnish Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics, as well as clubs for stuttering, hearing impaired and laryngectomized individuals, in the organization of the training for phoniatricians, speech therapists, and teachers of special education, as well as in the founding of the departments of phoniatrics in Helsinki (1961), Jyväskylä (1964) and Oulu (1972) and of the first school for hearing-impaired children in Finland.
