Wasilenko Yuri Stefanovich M.D., Ph.D., Prof. born on May 5, 1930 in Krasnodar In 1954, he graduated from Krasnodar Medical Institute.
		After graduation, he practiced as otorhinolaryngologist for 3 years. In 1957-1959 finished a post-graduation course on otorhinolaryngology. In 1960-1963 trained in ENT department of the Central Medical Institute of Postgraduate Education in Moscow as post-graduate student. In 1964 became a Candidate of Sciences. The theme of dissertation was „Protective and adaptation mechanisms of a noses mucosa reactivity“. Since 1964 and till the present time works in Moscow Research Institute of ear, nose and throat as a junior in the beginning, then as a senior scientific employee. In 1976 has protected the doctor’s dissertation on a theme: „Professional voice disorders in persons from speech professions“. Since 1977 is the head of the department of phoniatrics with a group of a plastic ENT surgery in Moscow Research Institute of ear, nose and throat. In 1980 has received a rank of the professor. Since 1991 is the chairman of Association of phoniatricians and speech therapists of Russia. 250 scientific articles have been published.
