Announcement - UEP Young Phoniatrician Award (YPA) 2025

The Union of European Phoniatricians (UEP) proudly announces the 2025 Young Phoniatrician Award (YPA), an annual award recognizing outstanding young medical doctors in the field of Phoniatrics who show promise in clinical, academic, and leadership excellence.

Award Details

  • Prize: €600 for each winner
  • Age Categories:
    • Category 1: 25–35 years
    • Category 2: 36–45 years
  • One winner will be selected from each age category.

October 31, 2025
Early applications are highly encouraged to allow adequate time for review and scoring.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Be a medical doctor (graduate of a recognized College of Medicine).
  2. Be currently working in medical fields related to Phoniatrics (voice, swallowing, speech, hearing, or language)
  3. Be a member of the UEP.
  4. Belong to one of the two specified age categories.
  5. Submit all required documents in English or with certified English translations.

Required Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following items, corresponding to the official award evaluation criteria:

  1. Completed online application form (Google Form).
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  3. Proof of Academic Phoniatrics Training (completed or currently attending)
  4. Proof of attending an EAP Phoniatrics Training Course or passing the European Board Exam.
  5. Published Research Articles (only those with valid DOI numbers will be scored)
  6. Certificates of Awards and/or Registered Patents.
  7. Evidence of Presentations at Conferences and Scientific Meetings.
  8. Proof of Leadership Roles (such as head of department or chairperson positions).
  9. Proof of Active Membership in UEP or its committees.
  10. Documentation of Established Educational or Training Programs in Phoniatrics.
  11. Evidence of Community Engagement Activities.
  12. Recommendation Letters (from supervisors, mentors, or professors – optional but encouraged).
  13. Personal Video (maximum one minutes) explaining your motivation, professional journey, and vision in Phoniatrics.

Important Notes

  • All documents not originally in English must be accompanied by official translations.
  • Only articles published in journals with a valid Digital Object Identifier (DOI) will be accepted for scoring.
  • Submissions without the required documents or missing information may not be reviewed.

UEP YOUNG PHONIATRICIAN AWARD BY SOLUVOS

Union of European Phoniatricians (UEP) - Young Phoniatrician Award is an annual award to be given to young medical doctors working on the field of Phoniatrics with promising potential for future academic and administrative leadership skills.

(1) Application requirements:

1. The applicant should be a Medical Doctor (graduate of College of Medicine)

2. The applicant should be working in the field of Phoniatrics (voice, swallowing, hearing, speech and language)

3. The applicant should be at the age of 45 years or younger

4. The applicant should be a member of UEP

5. The deadline for application to the 2024 award is August 31, 2024.

(2) The prize of the award: 

500 € + registration sponsorship for 31st Congress of UEP, Prague 2025.
