Training Course of Phoniatrics in Preparation for the Future European Board Examination of Phoniatrics
We are pleased to announce the European Board Examination in Phoniatrics (EBE Phoniatrics), established in February 2025 by the UEMS ORL Section and Board in cooperation with the EAP/UEP.
This exam aims to harmonize knowledge among Phoniatricians across Europe and beyond.
About the Examination
The European Board Exam does not replace national examinations where they exist but serves as an international benchmark for evaluating knowledge in phoniatrics.
The exam is open to candidates from various training backgrounds, with validation carried out according to the UEP logbook. Those from countries without a formal phoniatrics specialty must provide proof of qualifications via the Experienced Tutor Examination.
All application documents must be officially translated into English and submitted with the original copies.
Exam Structure & Fees
Part I (Written Exam):
100 multiple-choice questions (2 hours)
No negative markings for incorrect answers
Fee: €600
Part II (Oral Exam):
Available only for those who pass Part I
Complements the written assessment
Fee: €700
Exam Dates & Location:
Vienna, Austria
Written Exam: 29 August 2025
Oral Exam: 30 August 2025
Language: The exam will be conducted in English only.
Certification & Recognition
Candidates who pass both parts and are recognized as specialists in their home countries will receive the title "Fellow of the European Academy of Phoniatrics" (applicable to both EU and non-EU countries).
Candidates from UEMS countries who are not yet certified specialists will receive a "Diploma of the European Academy of Phoniatrics", valid until they provide a specialty certificate.
