European Board Examination in Phoniatrics (EBE Phoniatrics) & European Academy of Phoniatrics (EAP) Training Courses 2026
The European Board Examination in Phoniatrics (EBE Phoniatrics) represents a landmark achievement in the harmonization, quality assurance, and future-oriented development of specialist training in Phoniatrics across Europe and beyond. Established under the umbrella of the European Board Examination in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (E.B.E. ORL-HNS), and developed in close cooperation by the European Academy of Phoniatrics (EAP) and the Union of European Phoniatricians (UEP), the EBE Phoniatrics provides a standardized, transparent, and high-level assessment of medical expertise in the full scope of phoniatric care.
The examination rigorously evaluates knowledge, clinical reasoning, and professional competence in voice, speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders, ensuring alignment with contemporary European standards of patient-centered, evidence-based phoniatric practice.
Successful candidates are awarded the prestigious title
“Fellow of the European Board in Phoniatrics (FEBP)”,
a formal recognition of excellence, professional maturity, and commitment to international standards of care. The first Fellows were awarded in 2025, marking a historic milestone for the specialty and setting a new benchmark for phoniatric education and certification in Europe.
